This experimental programme takes us to uncharted territory and makes us look at familiar spaces in completely different ways. The concrete walls of a building site are the starting point for an intense and hypnotic experience in GRID, while Blue dives underwater for a powerful silent reflection on the afterlife of sexual violence. Boundary-pushing, these films are also playful – see Flex, our second bodybuilder of the competition (aka “the lovechild of Zeus and Thor”), or AIVA, an AI female artist who loves to paint male nudes. If you're feeling adventurous, this ride is for you.
Total running time: 60 mins
CAST YOUR VOTE ! These films are eligible for the audience award, as well as the Best Short and WTF awards, given out by our jury.
Winners will be revealed at the Flatpack Awards on 30 May (free event, booking essential).
Capturing the constant and unstoppable movement of goods required to fuel the demands of the modern consumer economy, the film explores the philosophical sublime, presenting a subject which is overwhelming and destructive but somehow also pleasing to watch.
