Thinking about a quotation from Jean-Luc Godard—"We must make movies like a farmer makes his own organic vegetables and sells them on the market"—I was inspired to investigate. So I went to see my brother, an organic farmer in the South of France. What would be organic filmmaking?

A horse logger and his horse take us deep into a forest in the Ardennes. As the seasons go by, the logger lives his passion under the gaze of a strange young girl. The man will share with her his passion of draft horse logging, teaching her his tradecraft. This is a short film about the idea of passing down, and how encounters can inspire a life’s calling. “Traces” highlights today’s youth as the main force of the preservation of our forests and the emotional symbiosis between man, animal, and forest.

Throughout the seasons, Traces follows a logger and his horse in the depths of the Ardennes forest as he lives his passion through the eyes of an peculiar young girl.

Based on a true story. Amparo Pacheco has been a theatre actress since she was a child. At age 86, her lifelong career has taken her on tour throughout Spain with her traveling theatre company. But at her age, she never imagined that she might yet receive a call that could change her life. Nevertheless, when she receives the call—an invitation to take a role in a Hollywood film starring Bruce Willis—she commits to doing so with an important mission in mind: she must bring home an autograph from Bruce Willis for her beloved granddaughter… and she’ll stop at nothing to get it!

Anna, a middle-aged single mother, lives in a small industrial town in war-torn Eastern Ukraine. She works in a meat processing plant, lives in a rundown apartment, and dreams for a better life for herself and her 16-year-old daughter. Desperate for a change, she is lured by a radio advertisement to attend a party organized for foreign men who are touring the country, searching for love. Despite not having been out for years, she decides to take part in the event. At the party, Anna is confronted with the realities of old age, with the American men's real intentions, and by her underaged daughter who is also attending the event. Both mother and daughter realize the absurdity and indignity of the situation and abandon their dream for a better life.
