A babysitter to her husband (Charlie), and protector to her daughter (Sam), River is the gentle yet unapologetic matriarch of the Wayward Family. Charlie’s passive demeanor and hesitant ambitions are rooted in a deep longing for the past: a time when the climate was in control. Charlie’s selfishness collides with River’s selfless tenacity. Charlie’s discontent is broken only by his love for Sam.
