In On Task, we experience the life of Erick Silva, a twenty-five year old social studies teacher at a charter high school in San Jose, CA. From his after hours life planning and grading to the unrelenting, yet rewarding hours he spends with his students, this film captures the experience of a teacher in an underserved, largely Latinx community. Shot and edited to emphasize the overly-stimulating nature of working with students on a daily basis, On Task eschews common representative tropes of teachers, schools, and education.

The 10,000 year old religion of Voodoo has been twisted and manipulated by mainstream American media to portray a dramatized version of black magic and ill wishes. Les Mystères gives an in-depth look at three initiated voodoo practitioners in Louisiana who pull from the lessons of love and spiritual healing that Voodoo teaches to better themselves and the lives of people around them. The film follows Mambo Brandi, cajun-born Jesse Brunet, and Houngan Toby as they debunk the misconceptions surrounding Voodoo and indoctrinate new members into their family.

Les Mystères

The practice of Voodoo has been exploited by the entertainment industry for decades as a form of dark magic. In Les Mystères, three initiated Voodoo practitioners—Brandi, Toby, and Jessi—reveal Voodoo as a religion of love and spiritual connection.

Gun violence has been prevalent in the lives of young adults, including young filmmaker Hope Ballard. This film documents Hope's personal journey as she works with a civil rights expert, a father of a Columbine victim, and a gun enthusiast in search of answers to the gun violence crisis in America.

When you think of inmates, what is the image in your head? Hardened convicts caged from the rest of the society because of the threat they pose? People who made a mistake and are now doomed to constantly repeat that same mistake? Or perhaps people thirsty for knowledge and recognition of their own human condition? Professor Carlo and Professor Minca Davis-Brantley would argue in favor of the last option and they have do more than merely argue. Inside Out The Documentary is proof of the work of these two incredible women who have brought The Prison Exchange Program to Miami-Dade College. Miami-Dade College students go to a Florida Correctional Facility and learn side-by-side with the inmate. Inside Out The Documentary showcases the struggles of implementing the program together in the state of Florida and it addresses the concern an fear from the students and inmates working together and it celebrates the accomplishment of everyone involved while detailing just how important such programs are needed in our country. Directed by Ro Sullivan and produced by Esteban Rodriguez and Ro Sullivan. Inside Out The Documentary was a labor of passion brought to life by a crew that truly believes in its message of redemption and looking past the cruel and utterly inaccurate labels that society places on inmates and instead looking at them for what they really are: People.
