In 1944 18-year-old Takashi Hoshizaki was incarcerated in the Heart Mountain camp when he was notified that he needed to report for his draft induction into the U.S. military. Takashi decided that until his civil rights were restored and he was released from the prison camp, he would not comply with his draft orders.
