Through inter-generational family conversations, the film aims to empower communities to have important and emotional conversations about displacement, belonging, and home. These family stories document the collective struggle and resistance of the Palestinian people - teasing out nuances, similarities and differences of experience. About the Filmmaker<img src="https://filmfreeway-production-storage-01-storage.filmfreeway.com/press_kits/headshots/002/671/730/original/8aa59c0168-headshot.jpg?1709579488" width="163"> Dina is an award-winning and multi-talented Palestinian filmmaker &amp; Vocalist who wants to tell inspiring stories on social and humanitarian issues. While studying in London (UK) for a BA degree in Filmmaking, Dina co-directed and co-produced her first short documentary, “Rise Up” screened in five international film festivals. Born in Jerusalem, Palestine. Dina became the co-founder of Space Collective, an art house working to build a stronger community in film and music.

She has written and directed short films and a music video. She is a 2nd year Directing fellow at the American Film Institute Conservatory. She is a highly independent filmmaker who channels her experience as a bi-cultural woman to give voice to the often unheard and to elicit the empathy that exists even within often hidden humanity. Her stories place women at the forefront focusing on the trials and tribulations that come with learning how to own one’s femininity.

Three friends drive through the mountains looking for a community of Palestinians they've only ever heard about. About the Filmmaker<img src="https://filmfreeway-production-storage-01-storage.filmfreeway.com/press_kits/headshots/002/520/158/original/9beffa475a-headshot.jpg?1695668451" width="223"> Zayd Lahham is a 22-year-old Syrian-Jordanian filmmaker. He studied Business of Cinematic Arts and Middle East Studies at the University of Southern California. His debut short film Jabal is slated to premiere at Chicago Palestine Film Festival and IndieLisboa. He is interested in interrogating diasporic nostalgia, the contemporary Arab identity, and the malleability of the Arabic language.

The girls of Champ Camp are in some ways typical teenagers — eager to challenge the old ways and looking to make their mark, pursue their purpose. But Adla, Rahmeeh and We'am– Palestinians growing up in Jordan’s Al-Baqa’a refugee camp– can also lift as much as 70 KG and are aiming for medals in international weightlifting competitions. Maybe even the Olympics! To book their ticket, the young women must succeed on stage in front of their loved ones in the heart of a refugee camp. The pressure of the competition leads to tears and triumph as the team dazzles the crowd with their formidable strength. Highlights include the Olympics in South Korea, the World Cup in Brazil, Real Madrid in Morocco, and Barcelona in Georgia.He met co-director Timo Bruun at the boxing world championships in 2017 and it was immediately clear that they shared a passion for telling overlooked stories from the sporting world.HEAVY METAL is their latest project that is produced by BAFTA-winning and Oscar-nominated filmmaker Hind Shoufani. Its esteemed list of Executive Producers are John Skipper, Stanley Nelson, Gary Hoenig, and Smriti Keshari. TIMO is a award-winning self-taught director from Hamburg. He started as a cameraman at his local TV station and has gone on to cover some of the biggest sporting events on the planet.Three Olympic Games, three FIFA World Cups, and two UEFA European Championships are just some of the highlights from his 20 years in the business.He’s inspired by the unobvious and is excited to tell stories in challenging arenas.‘Pure Euphoria’ was their debut film and start of a collaboration between him and co-director Ed Knowles. The message of that film correlates with their mindset - you can do anything you want, you just have to put in the effort.

In the Balata Palestinian refugee camp in the West Bank, 12-year-old Maha wants to realise her grandfather's dream: to return to Jaffa, to the land of her ancestors. About the Filmmakers: Nour Ben Salem &amp; Julien Menanteau After a master's degree in cinema at the Sorbonne and a TV series course at La Fémis, Nour Ben Salem worked as a scriptwriter for television and cinema. She co-wrote the feature film Hard shell, soft shell directed by Emma Benestan (2021), as well as several episodes of the series Reign Supreme for Arte/Netflix. Palestine Islands is her first work as a director. After studying cinema in Montreal and at the Sorbonne, Julien Menanteau directed his first short film Rikishi, followed by Samaritan, a creative documentary shot during two years in Palestine. Broadcasted on Arte, the film won a star from the SCAM. Lads, his first fiction feature, has just obtained an advance on receipts from the CNC.
