Reeling from a toxic-waste scandal, a fossil-fuel public relations executive retreats to the forest in search of recovery. But the woodland holds more than peace and quiet. Blending fantasy with environmental satire, Faye explores burnout, ecological responsibility and the uneasy distance between the stories we sell and the truths we avoid.

Faye

A burned-out spin doctor escapes to the forest—and finds that nature has questions of its own.

One of British Columbia’s last remaining fire lookouts, 72-year-old Bart Vanderlinde, scans horizons and distills life lessons during what may be his final fire season in the watchtower.

The Last of the Lookouts

Bart Vanderlinde scans the forest for smoke and reflects on a 50-year career in the British Columbia Wildfire Service as other fire lookout towers across the province stand empty around him. He is one of the last guardians of a vanishing profession.

The southern historic Black freetown of Mossville may be gone, but people like Debra Ramirez are still fighting to save the rest of their corner of Louisiana from the petrochemical industry. Joined by her best friend, Lois Malvo, these elders are speaking truth to power in all the “hidden dark places” and taking their message nationwide.

We Stand Together

Mossville may be gone, but two Louisiana elders refuse to let the petrochemical industry have the last word.
