About the Director:
Fawzia Mirza (she/they) is a Pakistani, Muslim, queer, writer/director. She was named a Champion of Change in Asian American Storytelling and won the 2020 Yes And Laughter Lab and the 2020 Islamic Scholarship Film Fund. Her first feature Signature Move, screened 150+ film festivals, won 15 awards, including the Grand Jury Prize, Best Narrative, Outfest. She wrote for CBS' The Red Line, and directed on the award-winning TikTok series Hidden Canyons. Her feature film Me, My Mom, & Sharmila which she wrote/will direct, has been supported by the TIFF Filmmaker Lab, Writers' Studio, SFFilm, Telefilm Canada and enters production Spring 2022.
