Director's Bio:
Aemilia Scott is a filmmaker who works in both comedy and drama, and loves the space in the middle, uncovering the humor living inside of tragedy, and the darkness beneath a laugh.
Her most recent short film, HELP ME UNDERSTAND, premiered at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival. Aemilia’s short films have won awards such as the BAFTA LA award at Aspen, and have won awards and screened at Clermont Ferrand, Palm Springs, Regard Quebec, Seattle, Rhode Island, and many others.
Aemilia has a number of feature films in active development. Her first feature script, BIRTHDAY SUIT, also has STILL ALICE producer James Brown attached. It was an official selection at IFP Film Week and Tribeca Film Week, and winner of the Melissa Mathison Film Prize at Hamptons International Film Fest. Her second feature script, THREE HOURS, was featured on the Blacklist before becoming an official selection of Tribeca Film Week, and was recently a semi-finalist for the Academy Nicholl Screenwriter’s Fellowship, and the Blacklist/Cassian Elwes Screenwriting Fellowship. Her third script, WILDERMANN, will be produced by Schiwago Films in Germany.
