The story revolves around the lives and deaths of farmworkers in Colombia, the state-sanctioned murder of Lenca land defender--Berta Cáceres-- and the filmmaker's own relation to their birth-land of Honduras.

Traditional Chinese society has a pretty strict requirement for women, that is only as a wife and a mother, your life can be considered as complete. I’ve read a story from social media, A 28-year-old girl living in Beijing hasn't been home in three years just to avoid getting married. She has a good job with a rich salary, but her life is still defined by her father as bad. The only way to satisfy her father is to get married and have children, then she can fulfill her mission as a daughter. In her early 20s’, she has been introduced by her father to an older man than her by 10 years and has no job, and to a divorced man with children, even when she refuses. In her father's eyes, reaching 30 years old buried all her “qualities,” and as long as he could marry her off, the background of the man was irrelevant. I was shocked and decided to do something to speak out for those women who are trapped in marriage, and so this film was born.

Family Ties

Highland Park Tennis Club has been offering free summer lessons since 2000 in an effort to expand the sport to those who cannot afford it. "Heaven on Earth" follows the club as they prepare for the beginning of the 2023 season.

A janitor struggling with his mental state only looks forward to his next drink.Janitor 988 is a short drama film intended to highlight the state of mental health in today's society. More so, the film aims to spread awareness about how the signs of depression can be subtle. The goal of scenes in the short film are to project a lonely, cinematic atmosphere that encompasses the environment of someone who is working a job they don’t love, while living in a situation where they look forward to nothing but the next sip of alcohol. The choices of wardrobe and set design are intentional and are intended to match the dark, blue state of the character.This film and subject matter is extremely close to my heart, as I am someone who has had a long battle with mental health. I temporarily dropped out of school when my mental health was at it's lowest point. The struggles have made me determined to use my platform to spread awareness about topics we don't speak about enough and that's what I hope to do with Janitor 988.
