The science of surfing’s fluid dance.&nbsp; The noseride is one of surfing’s peak moments; part fluid dynamics, part magic.&nbsp;But how does noseriding actually work? What makes this suspension between sea and sky even possible? The Physics of Noseriding explores the question through the eyes of Namaala, a young surfer whose people were flying on water long before the world even knew what surfing was.&nbsp; She takes us on a journey from mystery to mastery, as the wave, the surfboard and the surfer come together for surfing’s iconic dance with levitation.

Breaking barriers and making her own waves, Natasha Smith is a core member of the Ebony Beach Club. She shares her own story in hopes of increasing representation in surf, skate, and any other sport or activity that has historically been exclusive and can give such an individual sense of freedom.

In the Gambia, the smallest country of mainland Africa, fish is now being powered up by Chinese corporations and exported to Europe and China to feed animals in industrial farming. As a result, Gambians are being deprived of their primary source of protein and overfishing is depleting marine ecosystems. The film follows Abou, Mariama and Paul, three Gambians who share intimate stories of daily struggle, anger, hope and longing for their loved ones. For some, migration is the only way out.&nbsp;

A small rural town in Down East Maine stands up to the giant Internationally owned American Aquafarms who is intent on installing an industrial scale, ocean-based salmon farm at the foot of Acadia National Park in the waters of Frenchman Bay. Told through vivd and unmistakably local voices, we see a community united around a vision to protect Our Waters.&nbsp;

The film was created to support the launch of our Spring Summer ‘22 range of apparel and opening of a six month pop-up store on Abbot Kinney Boulevard, Venice, Los Angeles.&nbsp;Both the SS22 range of clothing and accessories and the film have at their heart a theme: “Luck is Alive”.&nbsp;One of the distinctive characteristics of African surf culture, particularly in West Africa, is a belief in animism. It’s a touchpoint that makes surf culture in Africa different from surf cultures elsewhere in the world. Animism is based on the idea that everything is sentient: that inanimate objects, plants, animals or even entities such as rivers, the weather or the ocean have an individual spirit.&nbsp;Mami Wata researched the ways in which an animistic outlook influences graphic design and visual culture in contemporary West African cities, such as Dakar, Senegal, and expanded on them in the designs of its SS22 collection.&nbsp;

Two skimboard champions who grew up in different countries share a parallel journey in pursuit of their commitment to the ocean. Narrated by Amber Torrealba, this story follows a glimpse into the roots and challenges that aligned their path and fueled this passion for chasing coastlines.
