in 2017, after years of touring and four record releases, The Summer Set decided to call it quits. The Arizona band had grown in popularity steadily since their formation in 2007 and had gained a legion of fans along the way including fellow performers like Taylor Swift. So in 2021, when they announced that they were getting back together, fans were ecstatic to say the least. The song and music video for "Back Together" recounts the story The Summer Set's break up and eventual reunion. A mixture of archival footage and live performance and heartfelt lyrics blend together to both remind old fans of their long journey from a small band from Arizona to playing some of the largest festival stages, and introduce new fans to their signature sound.
