Director Statement

The idea for the film, came from the central premise: 'Every mother has a favourite child, they just never admit it'.

I worked very closely on the script with the BAFTA-winning writer, Tim Whitnall. I wanted THE CHOICE to be a compelling story... haunting and chilling... a psychological drama which draws the audience in and keeps them guessing until the very end. The idea of a famous, troubled TV host whose life implodes seemed very relevant and actually quite prescient.

I wanted to go very high-end with production values and the overall look of the film, so we shot using anamorphic lenses and the majority of the film was shot on steadicam.
