Join the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence as San Franciscans gather to present their most creative interpretations of an iconic figure (twink Jesus, anyone?) where only one lucky contestant will be crowned the official Hunky Jesus.
For more than 45 years, the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence have served San Francisco’s 2SLGBTQ+ communities with compassion, activism, and bucket loads of joy. From producing one of the first community pamphlets about HIV/AIDS during the early days of the epidemic to championing education, outreach, and Queer visibility, the Sisters have long combined information with positivity for those who needed it most. Filmmaker Jennifer M. Kroot (To Be Takei and The Untold Tales of Armistead Maupin) returns to shine a spotlight on one of the organization’s most beloved traditions: its annual Easter celebration.
