This short film follows Chilean mycologist Giuliana Furci’s search for new mushrooms in far southern Chile on the main island of Tierra del Fuego. She’s joined by biologist and author Merlin Sheldrake and mycologist Toby Kiers from SPUN, the Society for the Protection of Underground Networks, whose goal is to map the world's mycorrhizal networks. Together, the three scientists illuminate how fungi underpin every ecosystem on Earth through nutrient cycling and the essential relationships they form with plants. They also outline a strategy for greater fungal inclusion in conservation policy. Winner –&nbsp;Short Category Award.

“JOJO” celebrates a creative and musical portrait of JoJo Nyaribo, a young nature lover and wildlife advocate, as he explores the meaning of biodiversity and stewardship in his own backyard.This story weaves Jojo’s love for the natural world with his journey in learning about and fighting against a specific fungus that has been wiping out a staggering number of amphibians around the globe. Jojo will explore his role in preventing the spread of this fungus through small actionable tasks such as cleaning his own running and hiking shoes and educating his friends and family.This young adventurer is constantly on a path of discovering who he wants to be in the world through the lens of being kind to himself and the environment around him. Using Jojo’s uniquely creative voice and experiences, this film hopes to share an inspiring perspective on the natural world and how a larger impact can be made through small actions and sharing joy. JoJo aims to encourage outdoor user groups to look at the positive opportunities they have in caring for biodiversity in the environments they’re connecting to.The themes of this film also explore the bridge between urban environments and surrounding natural spaces- showing how access and observation can be a catalyst for building intrinsic value and stewardship for outdoor environments and their inhabitants. The overall message of this film is to touch on the many benefits of spending time in nature and what access looks like for everyone. Winner –&nbsp;Short Short Category Award.

Metropolis - A Day in Reef City

Metropolis vividly reminds us of our role in preserving this underwater world. It is a captivating journey into the depths of the ocean's most vibrant ecosystem.

Every summer, 18-year-old Birta and 16-year-old Selma rescue pufflings (young puffins) at night on a remote island off the coast of Iceland. The pufflings leave their nests for the first time, following the moon's light to journey out to sea and transition into adulthood. Unfortunately, the pufflings get lost in town, mistaking the harbor lights for the moon. Over one night, Birta and Selma take it upon themselves to counteract the human impact on nature, exchanging night-time parties for puffin patrol in a coming-of-age story of young adults and pufflings alike. A documentary about growing up and making choices, worrying about the future, and dealing with encroaching environmental pressures. Puffling demonstrates the direct interplay between nature, the environment, and human life, exploring the importance of younger generations taking action on global environmental issues. Winner –&nbsp;Wildlife Conservation Category Award.
