Empowering animation, live-action, and music video shorts focus on the impact of kids on contemporary issues.
A little Penguin is visited by his friend Whale every year, until one day the Penguin has almost nowhere to go: the glaciers have melted due to the extreme global warming that increases every year. The Whale begins its journey in search of a glacier where his friend Penguin can live, but day after day, the heat prevents him from arriving in time with the solution. Perhaps, by working as a team with other animals, he can achieve his mission. From Argentina
Juror comments: Beautiful and sad. I highly recommend this short animated film for any festival that wants to deliver a message about climate change.

I love the animation of this film and the background music is stunning. The message about the disappearing glaciers is a poignant one in today’s world and drives home the threats from climate change and global warming. These two buddies have a not-so-great future as Penguin’s habitat is rapidly disappearing. The colors of this animation are spectacular and truly portray both the majesty and the terror of what we face today. The ending image with the mountain of trash in the middle of the ocean is another wake-up call.
The message of this film is about climate change and the effects it has on all living things, particularly those in the natural world.
I give Penguin and Whale 5 out of 5 stars and recommend it for ages 6 to 12, plus adults. Older teens could enjoy it also. Reviewed by Julie S., KIDS FIRST!
