1975. Eight-year-old Teresa plays by the lakeshore with her dolls when an elderly fisherman, after smiling at her, lowers his pants. Shocked, she returns home to find her mother, an amateur theater actress, performing as Pythia, writhing in a flurry of phrases and movements invoking the Greek oracle. Struck by Pythia’s strength in confronting darkness, Teresa decides to emulate her.

1975. Teresa, otto anni, gioca in riva al lago con le sue bambole quando un anziano pescatore, dopo averle sorriso, si abbassa i pantaloni. Sconvolta, torna a casa dove trova la madre, attrice teatrale amatoriale, intenta a interpretare Pizia in un dimenarsi di frasi e movimenti che invocano l’oracolo greco. Colpita dalla forza con cui Pizia sfida le oscurità, Teresa decide di imitarla.
