Lego Oma
German Grandma Rita Ebel – Lego Oma – is a thrice-married water skier who never stepped away from an athletic challenge. At least, until she experienced a car accident which broke her spine and paralyzed her from the waist down. Rita has had to find new ways to participate in sports and the other activities she loves from her wheelchair. She does that, and more; her humor, upbeat demeanor, and honesty are infectious.
EVERYTHING HAS ITS PRICE
EVERYTHING HAS ITS PRICE retells the modern-day human cost of the custom of “berdel:” when a man marries the girl he loves without the consent of her family, his sister is obliged to marry a man from the girl’s family. Told though the stories of four vivacious young women, friends in a rural village, who are all affected by berdel in very unexpected ways.
m OTHER: The Misunderstood Other Mother
Half of all women in the United States today will marry a spouse with children – and millions more all over the world were raised by stepmothers. Yet the most enduring stereotype of stepfamilies in popular imagination remains the “Wicked Stepmother.” Is this helping us? Stepmothers report depression at nearly double the rate of biological mothers and are at far higher risk of psychological strain than stepfathers. What can we do? Six women channel their art into their fight to be seen, heard, and ultimately understood.
Where We Belong
Inspired by the Japanese Buddhist ritual of offering food for the dead, a British-Japanese woman tries to reconnect with her origins and in this process, discovers the presence of her dead grandfather closer than ever.

What our screening reviewers said: "Millions of women are unnecessarily stigmatized - making blended families even more challenging than need be."

"Fascinating look at a group that has been kept in the shadows."
