During the COVD-19 shutdown, Los Angeles restaurants were deemed essential businesses, so with minimal guidance, they were forced to overhaul business models to scramble and survive. While quarantine diners enjoyed takeout and delivery as an act of normalcy, chefs and operators struggled through an unprecedented crisis. Each episode is a snapshot in time. Just one day in their ongoing fight to keep their restaurants afloat, staff employed, communities fed, and dreams alive. All for the love of restaurants. This four-part docuseries, in partnership with Resy, goes behind the scenes to share the pains and joys of LA’s most beloved restaurants during the pandemic — and how restaurants’ roles in our lives, communities, and cities are more essential than ever.

Keith Corbin and Daniel Patterson pivot Alta from a full service restaurant to outdoor dining only in light of Covid-19 restrictions. Through it all, they are able to assess what is possible in the restaurant community.
