Deep in the Congo Basin, the world's second largest rainforest, lies a refuge for some of our planet’s most enigmatic and endangered creatures, including bonobos, giant pangolins and the African forest elephant. But who watches over these vanishing species?

Follow the biodiversity team of the Mai Ndombe REDD+ Project as they embark on a challenging expedition into the depths of the forest, with the mission to recover and replace camera traps. These small, unobtrusive devices have revolutionized conservation efforts by capturing otherwise impossible to collect footage of these elusive animals, enabling eco-guards to monitor poaching activities while also providing researchers with invaluable data. These “eyes on the forest” offer a rare window into the lives of endangered species and have become an indispensable tool in efforts to protect the biodiversity of the region.
