Two women climbers, one a veteran and the other a novice, work together to reshape the climbing community in an ever evolving landscape. Within their individual journeys of personal growth, Kate Rutherford and Kiyomi James aim to close the divide between nature and humanity as they fall into their new roles of mentorship. Director Biography
Rachel Burnett is an award-winning filmmaker with a Bachelor's in Film and Media Studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara. She has worked on both narrative and documentary films in roles such as director, producer, production manager, and colorist. Rachel is most known for her short documentary, "841," which premiered at the 2024 Santa Barbara International Film Festival and received UCSB's 2024 Corwin Award for Best Short Film. With her passion and expertise in nonfiction storytelling, she is currently working as Head of Unscripted and Documentary at A Butterfly Production LLC, a small indie production company based out of California and New Jersey.
