This screening is in partnership with Peace Learning Center. Peace Learning Center is a nonprofit organization that helps people build skills for creating more peaceful communities. Through educational programs and community partnerships, it teaches conflict resolution, social-emotional learning, and other tools for positive change.
As a struggling young boy, Lobsang Phuntsok found healing in a Tibetan Buddhist monastery. Years later, he returned to the Indian Himalayas to found Jhamtse Gatsal, a home for vulnerable children. Expanding the Emmy-winning short "Tashi and the Monk", "Loving Karma" returns twelve years later to follow Lobsang, Tashi and the children she now helps to raise, asking whether compassion and community can heal even the deepest wounds.
