The film explores the Los Angeles community of Rhodeslis, Jews who lived on the Mediterranean island of Rhodes from 1492 to World WarII. The immigrants from Rhodes who settled in Los Angeles during and after World War II passed down their food, songs, rituals, and their medieval Ladino Spanish dialect to their American-born children and grandchildren. Experience a little-known area of Jewish culture and history through Interviews with some of the last surviving Rhodeslis, and their descendants, and footage of traditional food preparation and ceremonies, including a faith healing.
