This project serves as an example of one of the Richmond Vale Academy's ongoing environmental conservation and restoration of coral projects. Our involvement was intended to draw attention to the Coral Gardeners, local experts in coral restoration techniques who have made significant contributions to the project.

In 2021, the eruption of the La Soufriere volcano on the Caribbean island of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines left over 20,000 persons displaced and even more without the basic necessities such as water and electricity for many days.

A tiny island in the Eastern Caribbean has become one of the worlds most sought after luxury destinations, but the narrative around this island tends to leave out the perspectives of local communities that have been inhabiting the island for generations. This short documentary seeks to bring local voices into conversation, interweaving impressions, opinions and descriptions of local cultural practises.

Mr Orton King is well-known for his work with turtles on the island of Bequia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines. What is less known, is his harrowing story of survival that deeply anchors his lifelong connection to the sea. Travel with us as we chart the course of his life to present day, on his journey through the vast expanse of the ocean jungle to become The Turtle KING!

Follow Vincentian historian, Dr. Adrian Fraser, walking through the remnants of the colonial plantations, and explaining his findings on the legacy of the transatlantic slave trade.
