Monsters, nostalgia, zombies, family dishes, the comfort of a classic bagel and lox, and the joy of a good fortune: food has a way to bring us together, just as it brings these films together in this block. This block of seven short films will satisfy all film connoisseurs.

The Kitchen God is a deity in traditional Chinese culture who governs food and the fortunes of the family. Tang Hua Sheng(the Candied peanut) is a dessert offered during the worship of the Kitchen God. In this short film, "I" explore the significance of this ritual for my family and me by imagining the real existence of the Kitchen God. From childhood curiosity to nostalgia after leaving home as an adult, "I" gradually realize that this traditional custom still holds deep meaning for our family in modern society.
