Unbridled anger, suppressed emotions, self-sabotage, understanding yourself, your emotions and your needs - man, humaning can be so damn hard. These five films explore the complicated ways in which we confront (or refuse to confront) ourselves and our struggles.

Nearing 40 (although not according to her IMDB), Carlie is at that place in her life where half of her friends are raising kids, and the other half are on mushrooms watching Diplo do a secret set in a Laundromat in Echo Park. With her acting career nowhere as far along as she had hoped, and torn between wanting to stay young and party and wanting to be in bed by 10pm to watch a cozy British mystery and not aggravate her overactive bladder, Carlie must navigate what it means to still be broke and pursuing your dreams at an age where most people choose to give up and get real jobs.
