Xtemplar takes place in a future universe in which humans are battling against a hostile alien race. These aliens are a violent species that feed on psychic energy, and have terrible shapeshifting abilities. The story starts as a human space ship is being destroyed, and crash lands on an alien moon. The sole human survivor, Finch, soon discovers that he is not alone on this barren moon. The enemy is here with him.
