I wanted to tell the story of a young man ignored by others. Grégoire is a building caretaker with an ordinary life, living with his adoptive mother. Introverted and solitary, he seeks recognition and love from those around him.

I was deeply affected by reading Franz Kafka’s "The Metamorphosis". The novel is surreal, yet I could feel the character’s suffering due to the rejection he faced. The themes in Kafka’s book are incredibly relevant today, and I decided to revisit the core ideas of the story—bodily transformation and rejection.Then I wrote an entirely new story around these narrative elements. Moreover, the idea of introducing the supernatural and the fantastical into a realistic, urban setting immediately inspired me.
