I made this film out of necessity. My wife and I were deep in financial troubles after she had taken ill and was admitted to the ICU. We had to move out of our home and move into my in-law's basement and with no freelance work coming in and I just really needed to make something after a solid year and a half of work/funding rejections. We managed to shoot PUMPKIN GUTS back in September 2023, with £800 I made from selling camera equipment. I decided to just try and ask for as much help as I possibly could and gathered together some talented friends to help bring this little horror passion project to life. Six long sticky and gooey nights in Scotland during our first heatwave in years. My friend, Luis Vasquez (aka The Soft Moon), did the amazing score for the film for free but unfortunately he passed away in January this year, which was a massive blow and ultimately caused the film's post-production to hit a hiatus. The film has been the most difficult thing I've ever tried to pull off because it's been hit with many speed bumps along the way, Luis' death being the biggest as this was the last thing he ever worked on. I'm now finally able to go back into the edit and dedicate the film to him. I'm proud of how it's turned out and I hope you have fun with it too. Thanks, Bryan Ratings
