Green Blood is the result of a collaborative investigation into the practices of three mining companies operating in Tanzania, India and Guatemala. During eight months, forty journalists from fifteen countries have continued the work of local journalists that has been threaten, jailed or killed as the result of their investigation into the environmental cost and rapid expansion of the mines.

This documentary is a behind-the-scenes account of this incredible collaboration.


In Tanzania, journalists from the Green Blood project reveal the methods of the mining company to silence women raped by guards. In Guatemala, local people who demonstrate to denounce environmental conta-mination are repressed in blood. Abuses which have been suppressed to the highest level of the State.In India, journalist Sandhya Ravishankar is threatened because she exposed a scandal involving very influential industrialists. For more than 20 years, companies have illegally exported millions of tons of Indian sand ore to the rest of the world. The reporters of the Green Blood project go on site, where their colleague Sandhya can no longer go, to uncover the environmental damage, the violence and the corruption behind this global business.
