When an unarmed Black man, Akai Gurley, is tragically shot and killed by a Chinese-American New York Police Officer Peter Liang, activists and community members demand justice. But accountability means different things to each group, and when Liang is offered up as a sacrificial lamb as the first NYPD officer to be convicted of an on-duty shooting in 15 years, tensions mount and alliances fray. This documentary explores the inequities between racial communities and the root causes of social unrest enveloping America today.
