A joyful celebration of dance that explores the history of race in the U.S. through the music and movements of jazz. With evocative dance segments and a wide variety of archival footage, the film takes viewers on a fantastic, rhythmic ride. Featuring Jack Cole, Gene Kelly, Fred Astaire, and Bob Fosse, as well as the six founding fathers of jazz dance, the documentary questions the purity of form and appeal of change that is intrinsic in both social and physical movement.
