Every summer thousands of 17-year old boys gather in states across the nation to build mock governments, complete with mud-slinging debates, double-crossing alliances, and nail-biting elections. This charming coming-of-age story examines the health of America’s democracy through the experiences of four young men in Texas’ annual gathering of Boys State. The challenges we face in identifying and electing leaders who place civic duty ahead of political gain are thrown into stark relief as these young men struggle to create cohesive parties and survive Boys State. An Apple Original Films and A24 Release.
