The documentary film titled Panaglaga (Basket weaving) portrays the Tingguian women of Uguis, Nueva Era , Ilocos Norte. While traditional baskets are sold almost everywhere in the country, the said town where weaving is revered a lost skill , the Tingguian women weaves a small baskets lined with black strips. The traditional handicrafts and folk arts of our “kailians” from Uguis were initially born out of necessity , yet they are also objects of remarkable beauty . Once used by locals to barter in exchange for basic commodities, the skill of basket weaving seems to be a dying art. Basket weavers are still around in Uguis but few of them were active weavers . In this time of pandemic , we really have arts fighting to survive Covid- 19 impact . Director StatementThis documentary film was independently made with low budget to document the old women who weaves traditional baskets in a Tingguian community in Ilocos Norte . After all, Our very goal was to document and tell their story not to compete .Ratings

This story will show the real life of being so innocent of knowing the cause of damage of Sarangani Bay. With such an incredible amount of waste taking over in Sarangani Bay, you will witness here the changes of behavior of the Ocean. The threats of improper waste disposals, pose to the health of Sarangani Bay. Inadequate protection and less discipline will create irreversible damage and destroys the most important food source of the world. Director Bio: Coming from a region with lesser film experience than its neighbors, Alan D. Filoteo is a man of many hats. He is a director, writer, musician, photographer, cinematographer, and a video editor. After he graduated from Computer Engineering at the Notre Dame of Dadiangas University in 2009, he pursued his major. But after he took an intensive course/workshop in Film Directing at the University of the Philippines later that year, his career in filmmaking began. With his passion and big adoration in the film, he put up a Production Services Company (FilCor Multimedia Studio) in 2010. Since then, he has been engaged in filmmaking and worked as a contractor for quality video services for the National Government Units and other companies in Region XII -- working as a director, cinematographer, animator and video editor.In 2013 Alan Filoteo produced his first-ever independent short film “Nene” which was then selected in the 5th Cinema Rehiyon, 10th Guerilla Filmmaking, and in the 8th Mindanao Film Festival.In November 2016, his infomercial was selected in the ToFarm Film Festival which received a Citation award. On December that year, he produced his second short film “Garbo” which was selected in the 11th Mindanao Film Festival , exhibited in the 8th Cinema Rehiyon and A Film Festival Directors Award / Independent Achievement Award in International Film Festival Manhattan Virtual Events last Nov. 19 , 2020. He was also a former Film Festival Director of Lantawan Socsksargen Film Festival (LSFF) and a former board member of Socsksargen Center for Film Arts (SCFAI). Recently a board member and founder of Film makers Guild Of SocSKSarGen. He rendered his expertise as he initiated filmmaking workshops in Sinebiswal in General Santos, Sinelamdag Film Festival in Koronadal, and in some schools inMindanao like St. Mary’s College of Tagum, Quantum Academy, Mindanao State University, Holy Child College Information Technology, and for the regional DepEd. Recently, he was recognized by The National Commission for Culture and the Arts; Ani ng Sining as a passionate filmmaker in Mindanao. In 2019, he became a council member of General Santos City's Council for Culture and Arts in Film and the Festival Director and the founder of Sundayag Film Festival (SFF), in SocSKSarGen.Alan Filoteo is known for his adamant devotion to film and committed to the development and progression of culture through films.

Our lives were profoundly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, but the autism community was hit especially hard. With changes to supports, routines, communication, and much more, the autism community had to find new ways to persevere.Thriving on the Spectrum is a documentary about the Denver-Metro area’s autism community in the face of this global challenge. Award-winning autistic filmmaker Scott Klumb jumped into this project with a sense of urgency and desire to capture the experience and the closeness of this community. Through intimate interviews with autistic individuals, teachers, employers, and professionals, the complex emotional fabric of this marginalized population is clearly articulated.This film employs a variety of visual and storytelling approaches that express the multifaceted needs, interests, and efforts of a tight-knit and dedicated human family. Thriving on the Spectrum is a film about the autistic community of which the filmmaker himself is a part. Scott’s genuine connection to the subject presents an authentic account that is at once vulnerable and resilient. Director StatementI directed this film, Thriving on the Spectrum, while experiencing the struggles of the pandemic as an autistic person first hand. I had plans to go to film festivals for my last documentary until everything was cancelled in person. At first I really struggled with losing the momentum of the success of the film and I needed to find new ways to shift my mood. While filmmaking is a career for me, it is first and foremost a passion that keeps me engaged with the world. I have found ways to communicate through film that I can’t otherwise do as an autistic person. After figuring out what to do with my time, I decided that I would document the experience that was unfolding around me.There are so many approaches to take when telling a story like this but it is important that I tell a story that really connects an audience with the subject. I wanted to create a feeling of personal connection to the individuals featured in the film. I made the most of my personal access to these subjects and managed to capture honest and candid moments in the interviews.While directing this film, I wanted to touch viewers with the range of emotions that the subjects shared with me. The success of Thriving on the Spectrum, I decided, depended on the degree of empathy I could create.One of the other aspects of this film is the visual experience through cinematography and editing. I love to challenge myself in this regard. For me that process has to be an exploration because the work feels flat when I keep to a formula.I am so personally proud of this film because it turned out better than I could’ve ever dreamt of and it showcases my growth as a filmmaker. This feeling brings me happiness and purpose. It is inspiring me to connect deeper with my community and to continue progressing as a filmmaker.Ratings

Like a lot of industries, the Covid-19 pandemic paralyzed Hollywood. But with a huge shortage of PPE supplies for frontline workers, unemployed costume designers stepped up to the plate -- and to their sewing machines. "Masked" tells the story of how a crew of Hollywood costume designers put their craft, skill and care into pulling together a large-scale manufacture of cloth masks with all-volunteer labor against mounting odds. Director Bio Christian Bruno is an award-winning filmmaker and cinematographer. Pie Fight ‘69 (co-directed with Sam Green) won top prizes at Sundance, Chicago Underground, and Black Maria Film Festivals. Ed &amp; Pauline (co-directed with Natalija Vekic) about film critic Pauline Kael’s early years, premiered at Telluride in 2015. His cinematography can be seen in several acclaimed films, including Brian Davis’ hit feature documentary, The Million Dollar Duck. Visions Not Previously Seen about the life and work of groundbreaking designer Barbara Stauffacher Solomon, was recently nominated for 2 Webby Awards. He shot and produced Chris Russo’s feature-length doc, Lady Buds, a portrait of 6 women navigating the world of legal cannabis, which world premiered at Hot Docs in 2021 and continues to play the festival circuit. Christian has been awarded grants from California Council for the Humanities, San Francisco Foundation, The Pacific Pioneer Fund, Film Independent/HBO Documentary Fellowship, and has been in residence at The MacDowell Colony. The film features a series of interwoven interviews with New York couples which includes the LGBTQ community. Each couple opens up about their love for one another. Love and the need for human connection are the unifying bonds they all have in common. Director StatementI tell stories about love and romance by creating inspiring projects that explore the universal human need for connection and empathy with other like minded individuals.American Romance is a film about this universal need I believe we all have to connect with someone special. I wanted to make a film where we concentrate on relationship and love. This is a inclusive film that I hope everyone will recognize someone in the film as being part of who they also represent. I am deeply indebted to all these couples for their authenticity and bravery in letting me into their worlds.

Director’s message How does a documentary filmmaker tell the story with journalistic integrity while still striving for dramatic power? There are no hard and fast rules; it's one of the strengths in filmmaking. Documentary filmmaking has diversity when it comes to forming, style, or any other technique used by filmmakers like diary films or direct cinema, which can be powerful because both styles have their own element that helps create emotional responses from viewers. In this short documentary film, I wanted to emphasize the roots of Minton's, its founder, and hope for a better and brighter future.The playhouse was founded by Edward W. Minton and has been a revolutionary place for people to go since its inception, with many different events happening there throughout time. So not only does it have historical significance but also represents what people once had hope for when they were working hard back then-a better life ahead and a brighter future with opportunities around every corner!&nbsp; Among many elected officials in NYC, there is a man who brings hope for tomorrow- maybe even decades from now! Eric Adams has been working tirelessly to make this city better, and his work inspires many New Yorkers every day.
