In a world where people wander all over the globe for survival and no home can any longer be called home, three rootless lonely souls try to connect.
Allan is rich businessman who hides his empty life by being successful. One night he has a chance encounter with a sexy and mysterious Filipino-Chinese woman in Hongkong, Tanya. It will change his life forever.
Tanya is the product of rape by a Chinese with a Filipino domestic helper. That’s one of the countless stories she tells Allan about herself. She also tells him that she is a waitress, and has a Chinese immigrant friend who sells her body in the park, controlled by the Triad. Which is the truth and which is a lie? Tanya invents stories about herself in order to mask the wounds left living as a migrant in Hongkong.
Agnes is the ex-wife of Allan. She has struggled to make something out of herself in New York after leaving an oppressive relationship with Allan five years ago. She is a woman, and a minority, in a male-dominated world that considers women with opinion as bitches.
Soon their paths cross in New York. And there is a reckoning on how far one
can hide the guilt of the past, and how far one can wear a mask to hide the
pains of the present in the jungles of diaspora.
