The Canadian Film Institute’s Canadian Masters series is an annual celebration of excellence in Canadian filmmaking, featuring extensive interviews and special screenings.

Mouthpiece (Feature Film): Following her mother's sudden death, an aspiring writer grapples with reconciling her feminism with her conformist choices.

The Shape I Think (Short Film): Created, written, and performed by Patricia Rozema, this poetic meditation on love and life was part of the 1996 anthology film, SYMPOSIUM: LADDER OF LOVE, directed by Nik Sheehan.

About the Pairing:

Chosen by Patricia Rozema, The Shape I Think is an example of the Mouthpiece director’s early work.

Cassandra, who is portrayed by the two women, expresses the opposing voices that exist inside the modern woman's head, during a 48-hour period as she tries to organize the affairs for her mother's funeral.
