Earth's healing through sacred dance, defending ancestral territory, a reflection on ancestral spirits and our broken bond with Nature, and a return to home. These are stories that ground us on the land. These shorts programs may differentiate from the shorts programs presented at our in-person festival screenings due to the various geoblocking restraints on each film. ﻿

The dance announces the death of the Earth in order to heal her, for she has been violated by coal extractivism in Wayuu territory. Luzbeidy Monterrosa Atencio is a young Wayuu filmmaker and activist committed to defending the rights of Indigenous girls, women, and communities, as well as preserving memory and territory.

When gold mining threatens their ancestral territory in the Peruvian Amazon, the Wampís Nation rises to defend land, rivers, and sovereignty, confronting global extractivism with resistance and territorial control. Mullu TV and the Wampís Autonomous Territorial Government (GTANW) collaborate to amplify Indigenous voices, defend Amazonian territory, and strengthen community-led storytelling and resistance.

A reflection on ancestral spirits and our broken bond with Nature, told through compelling imagery and an Inuit perspective. Arina Kleist is an emerging Inuk filmmaker based in Qaqortoq, South Greenland, and a media freelancer focused on video storytelling. Her debut short, Ivikkisartoq Kingulleq, won Best Short Film at the 2024 Nuuk International Film Festival, marking her as a rising talent. ﻿

A young Blackfoot woman with an unexplained connection to the spirit world struggles to understand her gift as a dark presence begins drawing closer, threatening to overwhelm her life. Adam Solway, Nitsitaipoyi, is a Blackfoot filmmaker from Siksika Nation. His storytelling is rooted in his upbringing and community.
