Utica: The Last Refuge follows two newly arrived families as they acclimate to their new home, all the while tracking the tensions resulting from rapidly changing U.S. refugee policies on MVRCR. The Center counts as a blessing the city’s general support for their resettlement efforts. Approximately 25% of Utica is now made up of refugees and their offspring. As many experts and politicians attest, the influx is helping, not hurting the struggling rustbelt city.
