'Hang' is a stop animation short film created by Sam Slowik, a sophomore at Brookfield Central High School in Wisconsin. The 3 minute short film is shot at 15 pictures/frames per second and is made up of nearly 4,500 individual pictures with minor movements to the character for a fluid animation style.'Hang' features the music of Milwaukee punk band, Bad Crime. Work is always more enjoyable when you get to do it with good friends and loud music. When Hafsa, a sparkly and impulsive 12-year-old girl, is made aware of her unibrow at Islamic Sunday School in a lesson on "cleanliness," her eyebrows come alive and speak to her.

"A Bird Hit My Window and Now I’m a Lesbian" is our debut short film. In this film we explore the process of grieving the life you expected to have and the letting go of the desire for male validation. For many women and femme people, male desire and attention acts as a social currency. Realizing one's lesbian identity forces one to acknowledge and process this. Coming out often means a rejection and mourning of this previous life. When a bird hits a window, it is generally a male bird seeing his reflection and believing it is a rival attempting to usurp his territory or his women. He flies into the window to destroy his rival. In this case, his rival is femme queerness. In a male-dominated heteronormative world, it is the death of the bird that acts as the catalyst to the film. Throughout the process of creating, “A Bird Hit My Window and Now I’m a Lesbian,” we had to grapple with our own internalized discomfort with the word “lesbian.” Lesbian is a scary word. It has been oversexualized and carries many negative social connections. However, we began to understand the word lesbian, not just as an identity, but as an act of rebellion for all women, trans, and nonbinary people who resonate with the word. Although the title of our project is meant to be humorous, it also is rooted in vulnerability, inclusivity, and intentionality.

"I'll bring Shiro to you.I promise!" Jin, the cat, made this promise to Mugi, who is deeply sad about losing her beloved dog, Shiro. Jin loves Mugi very much and, after hearing the story of the "Rainbow Bridge" from his owner Aki, he decides to take Mugi to meet Shiro at the Rainbow Bridge! Can Jin heal Mugi's sadness? With the help of nearby pigeons and squirrels, Jin's great plan is now underway!

Catnap is a two-dimensional animated short film inspired by classic cartoons from the 1940s and uses some of the visual comic jokes from that era. Catnap features a cat named Benny who wants to return to his kitty dreamland but a dog named Jack obliviously disturbs Benny through silly antics. The story was inspired by Carrie Runyan’s cat, Benny, who has a sweet face but makes expressions like “Why do we have a dog’ and her dog, Jack, who accidentally steps on Benny because he lacks self-awareness.
