On the corner of Main Street in Stephenville, Texas, sits ‘Slim Pickins Outfitters', the first Black-owned outdoor outfitter shop in the Country. Owned by Jahmicah Dawes and his wife, Heather, the shop has become a staple in the community that represents fellowship, allyship, and outfitting friends for their next adventure. Like most small businesses, Covid-19 put more stress on their business and mental health than anticipated. But through it all, they continue to tell a story of hope and reconciliation, of community, and of friendship in an America that desperately needs to hear it. Slim Pickins

Owned by Jahmicah and Heather Dawes, Slim Pickins Outfitters is the first Black-owned outdoor outfitting shop in the country. After nearly closing their doors due to Covid-19, they continue telling a story of hope and reconciliation, of community, and of friendship in an America that desperately needs to hear it.

Rebyrth is a film about a Black doula working to save the lives of Black mothers as they journey from pregnancy into motherhood. The role of a doula is to act as a guide through childbirth. It’s a connection that goes beyond the physical realm, one that culminates with the greatest gift - LIFE. Rebyrth

Rebyrth is a film about a Black doula working to save the lives of Black mothers as they journey from their pregnancies into motherhood. The work of a doula is an ancestral process that culminates with the world’s greatest gift — LIFE.

Iranian siblings, Sanam and Reza, without speaking a word of English, open up a chai stand in their neighborhood. However, the siblings face the unexpected competition from their neighbors who open a hot chocolate stand. What follows are the challenges Sanam and Reza experience to convince people in their neighborhood to give their Persian tea a chance over the hot chocolate. This film explores how its atmosphere created a perfect place for Suhair Lauck, a Palestinian immigrant, to take over in 1982 and how she continues to cultivate the magic that is The Little Tea Shop.
