Every November, co-Directors Alex Wolf Lewis and Kaitlyn Schwalje celebrate Thanksgiving at Alex's Aunt and Uncle’s house just outside of Philadelphia. And every November they marvel at the fact that the family’s 4-inch-long pet turtle, Snowy, is still alive. Snowy has lived an isolated life in the family basement for the past 10+ years with minimal sunlight and no companionship other than that of his primary caretaker, Uncle Larry. In an effort to improve Snowy's life we ask: Can Snowy be happy and what would it take? Seabird

As writer Adam Nicolson reflects on a childhood spent visiting thriving seabird colonies in the remote Scottish isles, he fears that – sooner than anyone had expected – these colonies, too, will become nothing more than memories.

When Germany was divided in 1946, the sleepy farming village of Mödlareuth was torn apart. Soviets descended on the eastern half, Americans took over the west. A 12-foot wall was built through the middle, and the village soon picked up the nickname ‘Little Berlin’. The international had a field day, but the tragedy unfolding in the local herd went unreported. While Peter, the only bull in the village, was stranded in the west, his cows were suddenly eating Soviet grass on the other side of the wall.
