In rural Southern Indiana, two men craft hoopnets and commercially fish in the White and Wabash Rivers. Larry and Danny hand-tie thousands of knots, creating intricate hoopnets that have been used since the Great Depression. Both hope that the craft will be picked up by future generations before it disappears.


Indiana Spotlight

Director Hannah Myers Lindgren was born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana and currently resides there. Producer Jon Kay lives in Bloomington, Indiana and is a professor at Indiana University. Director of Photography Evelyn Rehrey was born and raised in Bloomington, Indiana. Both subjects of the film, Larry Haycraft and Danny Cain, have lived their entire lives in Indiana. Filming locations: New Harmony, Indiana and Petersburg, Indiana.
