Meet the Filmmaker - Leo Thom
Leo is currently completing an MA in Wildlife Filmmaking at UWE, in association with the BBC’s Natural History Unit, with a view to becoming a producer director of natural history films. Leo is also a creative director for an international mangrove conservation NGO, helping to raise the profile of mangroves whilst highlighting the organizations programs & communicating conservation impact. His passion as a filmmaker is to bring to the surface, stories of people who have intimate relationships with coastal forests I previously worked as an animation specialist in both the UK and Asia, delivering digital shorts for clients such as TFL, Landscape Institute, Canal & River Trust, Lion TV and Greater Mekong Subregion EOC.

Meet Martin Keeley
Martin Keeley, MAP’s Education Director, brings more than 20 years of experience as a full-time teacher and over 30 years in environmental education to his work developing and implementing MAP’s Marvellous Mangroves curriculum with teachers, NGOs, Education Ministries and communities worldwide. Marvellous Mangroves has been adapted and translated for use in 15 countries around the world. Before joining MAP Martin was the founder and Executive Director of a wetland education and advocacy project called the Friends of Boundary Bay/Fraser for Life Communications Society – based on the border of BC Canada and Washington – for 8 years. With more than 50 years experience in communications and education he has developed extensive and award-winning environmental education programs on wetlands. More recently, he has helped to create the Cayman Islands Mangrove Rangers – an organization which monitors and protects the Cayman islands’ mangroves. He has published four books including his best-selling Mangrove Myths & Legends with stories collected from cultures around the world.
