Here are five films that take a long, unflinching look at the darker side of LGBT+ life, exploring workplace bigotry, drug-fuelled depravity, grief, loneliness and the viciousness of bullies. But if all that sounds a little bleak, they are also compelling stories, with great writing and superb performances, and there is even a bittersweet happy ending or two!

Dyma bum ffilm sy'n cymryd golwg hir, pybyr ar ochr dywyllach bywyd LHDT+, gan archwilio rhagfarn yn y gweithle, trallod sy'n cael ei danio gan gyffuriau, galar, unigrwydd a diefligrwydd bwlis. Ond os yw hynny i gyd yn swnio ychydig yn llwm, maen nhw hefyd yn straeon cymhellol, gydag ysgrifennu gwych a pherfformiadau gwych, ac mae yna ddiweddglo neu ddau hapus chwerwfelys hyd yn oed!

This tense, brooding film has two factory workers, from separate generations, working side by side. The younger of the two narrates, recounting the older’s casual homophobia and his own questions about masculinity and sexuality.

Mae gan y ffilm ddirdynnol hon ddau weithiwr ffatri, o genedlaethau ar wahân, yn gweithio ochr yn ochr. Mae’r ieuengaf o’r ddau yn dweud y stori, gan adrodd homoffobia achlysurol yr un hŷn a’i gwestiynau ei hun am wrywdod a rhywioldeb.
