Here are five films that take a long, unflinching look at the darker side of LGBT+ life, exploring workplace bigotry, drug-fuelled depravity, grief, loneliness and the viciousness of bullies. But if all that sounds a little bleak, they are also compelling stories, with great writing and superb performances, and there is even a bittersweet happy ending or two!

Teenager Rabia reacquaints herself with her estranged history teacher Maddie, now living in seclusion, and grieving for her beloved wife who died in extraordinary circumstances.

Mae Rabia sydd yn ei harddegau, yn ymgyfarwyddo â’i hathrawes hanes Maddie, sydd wedi ymddieithrio ac yn byw mewn neilltuaeth, ac yn galaru am ei gwraig annwyl a fu farw mewn amgylchiadau anghyffredin.
