Here are five films that take a long, unflinching look at the darker side of LGBT+ life, exploring workplace bigotry, drug-fuelled depravity, grief, loneliness and the viciousness of bullies. But if all that sounds a little bleak, they are also compelling stories, with great writing and superb performances, and there is even a bittersweet happy ending or two!

A Transgender teenage boy finds friendship in online games, away from the bullying he faces at an all-girls private school. On the day of his 16th birthday, the bullying takes a disturbing turn for the worse.

Mae bachgen Trawsryweddol yn ei arddegau yn darganfod cyfeillgarwch mewn gemau arlein, i ffwrdd o'r bwlio y mae'n ei wynebu mewn ysgol breifat i ferched. Ar ddiwrnod ei ben-blwydd yn 16 oed, mae'r bwlio yn gwaelu.
