This is just a selection of some of the great films featuring trans and non-binary characters and themes you’ll see in this year’s programme, demonstrating the variety of stories being told, from an acerbic take on modern dating, to a delightful animatedhistory lesson about Hawaii’s legendary non-binary healing spirits.

This gorgeous animated short tells the story of the Kapaemahu, healing spirits from Hawaiian mythology who were both male and female in one, as memorialised in ancient stones that now stand on Waikiki beach.

Mae'r ffilm fer animeiddiedig hyfryd hon yn adrodd hanes y Kapaemahu, ysbrydion iachau o fytholeg Hawaii a oedd yn ddynion a menywod mewn un, fel y'u cofebwyd mewn cerrig hynafol sydd bellach yn sefyll ar draeth Waikiki.
