A Jewish winery owner preserved a barrel of wine for 24 years to open at his son's wedding. Minutes before the ceremony the Kosher supervisor witnesses a gentile touch the wine, and by doing so forbidding all Jews from drinking it. <img src="https://storage.googleapis.com/eventive-static/22dcb6847a69d372d5a5e3ea41396d7c.jpg" width="77">Director Biography - Shmuel ElmalehShmuel Elmaleh is a director and filmmaker in Jerusalem. Shmuel moved to Israel from New York and grew up in the city of Beit Shemesh. At age 21 Shmuel was drafted to the digital unit in the IDF as a military cinematographer and director. Shmuel is a graduate of the Aspaklaria theater and works at various highschools with young adults as a drama constructor. Today Shmuel is studying film at Maale film school, and runs a business of PR videos, music videos and advertisements. Shmuel plays the saxophone and is a big fan of Ben &amp; Jerry's ice cream. Director StatementI grew up in a family that was very stringent about being Kosher, to the point that we would buy “Kosher for Passover” dish soap. I wanted to address the phenomenon where Jews often get lost in the details of the Jewish law but miss the big picture of life. My short film takes place on a young man’s wedding day, who (like me) has got caught in the middle of family politics. I hope this film inspires parents and their children, and will shed light on the wedding experience.

The Soldier on Smithdown Road

Avinoam and Barak, father and son from a Kibbutz bordering&nbsp;the&nbsp;Gaza strip, are forced to deal with another round of rockets and combat, each in their own way. One night, Barak reaches a boiling point and Avinoam is forced to absorb&nbsp;the&nbsp;heat. It is with immense sorrow that we share&nbsp;the&nbsp;devastating news that our beloved filmmaker, Yahav Winner, was found dead in Kfar Aza yesterday evening. Yahav was murdered by Hamas terrorists after attempting to stall them in order to allow Shaylee Atary, his wife and a filmmaker as well, to escape with their newly born daughter Shaya.&nbsp;The&nbsp;loss of Yahav has left an indelible void in our hearts, and we extend our deepest condolences to Shaylee, his family, friends, and all who were touched by his artistry and spirit.&nbsp; In&nbsp;the&nbsp;wake of this tragedy, we find solace in&nbsp;the&nbsp;thought of celebrating Yahav's life and work. Sirens

Asa is about to celebrate his Bar-Mitzvah, a young Jewish boy’s entry into adulthood. Asa wanders through the Southern Israel town of Netivot in order to flee his helpless father and in order to draw closer to his mother who betrayed him through her death. His father demands that Asa prepares for the Bar-Mitzvah ceremony, which will also require the adolescent to cope with his mother’s death. This situation causes Asa to rebel and to embark on a sad and sometimes humorous journey through the neighborhoods he explores. His mother’s grave, which he has never visited, is waiting for him at the end of the street. <img src="https://storage.googleapis.com/eventive-static/97e4c49ebb053bbaba76ac9357072b18.jpg" width="81"> SALI ELIMELECHSali Elimelech was born to a traditional Moroccan family in Be’er Sheva in southern Israel in 1984. He was the family photographer, using his father’s video camera. He enlisted in the Israeli army, was wounded, and continued as a photographer in a paratroopers’ unit. Following the example of his brother, who studied filmmaking, Sali Elilmelech enrolled at Sapir College.

“Dear God” depicts romantic Jerusalem seen through the eyes of Aaron, a guard at the Wailing Wall. One day, a beautiful mysterious woman puts a note between the holy stones and Aaron decides to fulfill her deepest wish, while learning that love is all about communication.
