Freelance writer, Ichikawa Shigemi (INAGAKI Goro), knows that his wife is having an affair. However, plagued by guilt and confusion over his apathy towards this discovery, he has yet to speak to her about it.  

One day, at a literary award ceremony, the award-winning work of a high school writer catches Ichikawa’s eye. He befriends the young author, asking if he can meet the people that inspired her story’s characters. As he meets her inspirations and reflects on his own writing, he comes to terms with his wife’s infidelity.
