A strange multifaceted meteorite stone, effect of the Big Bang, is flying across the universe, its destination: planet Earth. As it hits the Earth's atmosphere it breaks up into multicolored sparkling minerals, each landing in a different part of the world. Six fragments are found by six children who, that same day, are celebrating their tenth birthday; all live in different places located across the different continents on Earth. Each child picks up the colored fragment at the same moment and a strange weather phenomenon happens; this attracts the attention of the scientists and meteorologists at the Meteo Expert Center, the world famous scientific center foremost in the fight against climate change.
World famous scientist Margherita Rita, Chief scientist at MEC, rushes to Rome to meet Giorgio, one of the six kids, and is amazed by the powers that the meteorite fragment seems to have given him. She is convinced that what she has witnessed will be instrumental in defeating climate change, so she speaks to Giorgio's parents and invites him to accompany her to live at the scientific center located on the Gran Sasso Mountain in Italy. She does the same with each of the other five children and together they form a special team of weather superheroes at the service of the planet - the MeteoHeroes!
Margherita Rita visits with the other five children, talks with their parents and invites the children to join the team at the scientific center on Gran Sasso Mountain. The six children arrive at MEC; they are excited but also nervous and unsure of what to expect. They meet the most advanced model of artificial intelligence called Tempus who explains how their new superpowers can be used to save the planet. Suddenly, an alarm goes off! There are problems in Antarctica and a penguin is in serious danger! Giorgio is sent on his first real mission. He manages, with a bit of luck, to save the penguin Peeguu and brings the animal back with him to MEC. The first mission is accomplished. The kids are all given their new superhero names, costumes and accessories. They are named: Now they are named: Nubess, for the power of clouds and fog; Nix, for the power of snow and ice; Ventum, for the power of wind and tornado; Pluvia, for the power of rain and hailstorm; Fulmen, for the power of lightning and super-speed; Thermo, for the power of hot and cold temperature.
These are the MeteoHeroes; they were born for saving planet Earth! As the six children are getting used to their new life at MEC, they are always busy in ever new adventures fighting against their arch-enemy Dr. Makina, the villain polluter. He is the reason for the alarm that comes from Rome, where an illegal factory of his is the source of acid rain which is corroding the travertine at the Coliseum. There is no time to waste -- only the MeteoHeroes can solve the situation and avoid having this very important monument destroyed. Ventum, Nix, Pluvia and Thermo are all sent on this important mission, reaching the capital of Italy by the Jet Stream Transporter, and they are soon busy protecting the ancient monument and discovering where the pollution is coming from.
While they are away, another alarm rings at MEC --in the Pacific Ocean, near a small Japanese island, a ship is using a powerful sonar to fathom the depths of the sea, probably to locate a gas pipe laying on the bottom of the sea. The sound waves are disturbing a pod of dolphins causing them to lose their orientation. When Fulmen and Nubess reach the location they discover that the source of the problem is one of Dr. Makina's ships -- together with his toxic helpers called Maculans, black bubbles of dirty smog, he wants to get hold of the power from the gas pipe to organize a giant party. Back in Rome the Maculans are fighting off the MeteoHeroes who, in the end, manage to beat them, eliminate the acid rain source and save the Coliseum. On his return to MEC, Ventum is sent off immediately to help his friends Nubess and Fulmen to guide the dolphin pod to safe waters and eliminate the source of the sonar waves. No one can stop the MeteoHeroes! Missions accomplished! These are only the first two of the many exciting adventures to Save Planet Earth!
